Case filed over B’baria train accident

An unnatural death case was filed with Akhaura Railway station over Kasba train accident on Tuesday evening. 

Mandabhag Railway Station master Zaker Hossain Chowdhury filed the case. 

Akhaura railway police station officer-in-charge Shyamol Kanti Das confirmed the news on Wednesday morning.

On early Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at least 16 passengers, including three toddlers, were killed and more than 70 passengers were injured as an intercity train hit another at Mandabhag Railway Crossing under Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria.

The accident occurred when the locomotive of Dhaka-bound Turna Nishitha Express hit Chattogram-bound Udayan Express in the middle and three compartments of the latter derailed immediately, said Bangladesh Railway officials.
