UAE have withdrawn from the Emerging Asia Cup 2019 and were replaced by Nepal, hosts Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Tuesday.

The tournament is scheduled to begin in BKSP and Cox’s Bazar on Thursday with the participation of eight Asian teams.

UAE had been placed in Group B alongside hosts Bangladesh, India, Hong Kong while Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Oman were placed in Group A.

Matches of the tournament are scheduled to take place at Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox’s Bazar and in BKSP 3 and 4 while the final is scheduled to take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on November 23.

Under a revised schedule, Bangladesh will play against Hong Kong on the opening day in BKSP while India will take on Nepal on the same day in another ground of the sports academy.

Pakistan and Afghanistan will play in Cox’s Bazar on the opening day while Sri Lanka will take on Oman.

Bangladesh named a strong squad for the tournament, which included several national players like Nazmul Hossain, Mohammad Naim and Afif Hossain. Nazmul will lead the home side in the tournament.
