Popular small screen actress Urmila Srabanti Kar is all set to make her silver screen debut with Shahnewaz Kakoli directed upcoming film ‘From Bangladesh’.

The film is based on the story of Liberation War. Urmila will be seen opposite Indian actor Gazi Abdun Noor in the film.

‘I am looking forward to making my silver screen debut. From Bangladesh is a Liberation War-based film. I hope film lovers across the country will find it entertaining,’ Urmila told New Age.

‘Though I have been acting in small screen productions for a decade, I want to be selective in films. I agreed to act in From Bangladesh because I really liked the plot.  Shahnewaz Kakoli is a seasoned director. It will be a great learning experience for me,’ added Urmila.

Urmila made her small screen debut after participating in Lux Channel-i Superstar 2009 pageant where she secured 6th place.

Her first teleplay Jatil Prem was aired in 2010. Besides, she acted in Money Bag, Chirkut, Bou Kidnap, Election Caricature, Bhalobashar Etibritto, Tumi More Bhuliaso and many others.

While taking about her recent small screen ventures, Urmila said ‘I am currently acting in a number of teleplays and a drama series. Besides, I am also acting in a few television commercials.’
