BSF kills Bangladeshi along Jhenaidah border

Indian Border Security Force shot dead a Bangladeshi at Shilgate border point in Moheshpur of  Jhenaidah early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Sumon Islam, 25, son of Abdul Mannan, resident of Shyamkur village in Moheshpur.

Border Guard Bangladesh’s battalion 58 commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Kamrul Ahsan said BSF personnel shot at Sumon while he along with some others went to the area adjacent to Shyamkur boarder pillar 60 to bring cattle from India.

Sumon was found dead on the spot while the others managed to escape the gunfire, according to the BGB.

‘BGB was trying to hold a flag meeting with BSF to bring the body home as the body was now in custody of Pakhiura BSF,’ said Kamrul Ahsan.
