Cricket Association of Bengal on Thursday announced that the online tickets for the first three days of Bangladesh and India’s inaugural day-night Test match have been sold out in just two days.
The second match of the two-Test series is scheduled to take place at the Eden Garden’s in Kolkata from November 22 and both the sides will be playing their first Test match under the floodlights.
’30 per cent of the online saleable tickets for the first three days [5,905 tickets] have been sold out while over 3,500 tickets for the fourth day of the second Test between India and Bangladesh to be played at Eden Gardens from 22-26 November are sold,’ CAB Secretary Avishek Dalmiya was quoted saying on their official Facebook page.
CAB have taken multiple steps to commemorate this historic occasion, as they earlier invited the players who took part in Bangladesh’s inaugural Test against India for a special felicitation ceremony before the start of play on the first day.
The CAB also invited Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina as the chief guest of the event and she had agreed to attend the function.
Other dignitaries like chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banarjee and many prominent cricketing and sporting figures of India were also invited to the event.
