National Film Awards 2017, 2018 announced

The information ministry has announced the names of winners of National Film Award, the highest recognition for contribution to the film industry, on for 2017 and 2018.

The ministry issued notifications regarding the awards on November 5.

The National Film Award for the year 2017 will be given in 27 categories.

ATM Shamsuzzaman and Salma Begum Sujata have jointly been awarded the lifetime awards in 2017.

Film Dhaka Attack has been awarded the best film. The award will be shared by Kaiser Ahmed and Mohammad Sanwar Hossin.

Biswa Anginai Amar Ekush, a production of Bangladesh Television, has been awarded the best documentary film.

Badrul Anam Saud has been awarded the best director award for his film Gohin Baluchor. 

Shakib Khan for his role in Satta and Arifin Shuvo for Dhaka Attack have been jointly awarded the best actor in the principal role for their films.

The best actress award went to Nusrat Imrose Tisha for her role in Halda.

The best supporting actor award went to Shahadat Hossain for Gohin Baluchor.

The best supporting actress award jointly went to Subarna Mustafa and Runa Khan for Gohin Baluchor and Halda respectively.

Zahid Hasan was awarded the best villain for Halda.

The best child actor award went to Naimur Rahman Apan for Chitkani.

The best comedy actor award went to M Fazlur Rahman for Gohin Baluchor.

The best child actor special category award went to Annaya Samuel for Akhi O Tar Bandhura.

James was adjudged the best male singer for his song Tor premety andha holam in the film Satta.

Bappa Majumder was adjudged as giving the best tune for the song Jani na kon oporadhey in the film Satta.

The National Film Award for the year 2018 will be given in 28 categories.

MA Alamgir and Prabir Mitra have jointly been awarded the lifetime awards for the year 2018.

Film Putra has been awarded as the best film and Department of Film and Publication has been named the awardee.

Galpa Shankhep has been awarded as the best short film and Bangladesh Film and Television Institute has been named the awardee.

Faridur Reza Sagar has been awarded best documentary award for his film Rajadhiraj Razzak.

Mostafizur Rahman Manik has been awarded the best director award for his film Jannat.

Ferdous Ahmed for his role in Putra and Symon Sadik for Jannat have been jointly awarded the best actor in the principal role.

The best principal actress award went to Jaya Ahsan for her role in Debi.

The best supporting actor award went to Ali Raz for Jannat.

The best supporting actress award went to Suchorita for Megh Kanya.

Sadek Bachchu was awarded the best villain for Ekti Cinemar Golpo.

The best child actor award went to Fahim Muhtasim for Putra.

The best comedy actor jointly award went to Mosharraf Karim for Komola Rocket and Afzal Sharif for Pobitra Bhalosha.

The best child actor special category award went Mahmudur Rahman for Matir Projar Deshey.

Emon Saha bagged the best music director’s award for Jannat.

Sabina Yasmin and Akhi Alamgir jointly won the best female singer award respectively for the songs Bhuley maan obhiman in film Puta and Golpo kothar oi in the film Ekti Cinemar Golpo.

Runa Laila was adjudged as giving the best tune for the song Golpo kathar oi in the film Ekti Cinemar Golpo.
