A section of students of the Pabna University of Science and Technology continued their agitation on the campus on Tuesday demanding removal of vice-chancellor M Rostom Ali alleging that he was involved in bribery and corruption.
Protesters brought out a procession and held a rally boycotting classes and examinations demanding removal of the vice-chancellor, proctor and student adviser for their reported corruption in recruitment of an official.
Earlier, students took to the street in demand of launching an investigation into the alleged bribery scam after an audio clip of phone conversation between a jobseeker and the vice-chancellor went viral through Youtube and other social media.
They raised the demand of the removal after the administration failed to take necessary steps.
PUST Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall provost Saiful Islam said that the agitation did not hampered administrative activities, but no classes were held due to absence of students.
Proctor Pritam Kumar Das said the vice-chancellor and department chairmen met with Pabna deputy commissioner Kabir Mahbud in his office to take necessary preparations for the entrance exam scheduled for November 15.
