Road accidents kill two in city

Two people were killed in separate road accidents at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Gulistan in Dhaka on Thursday morning and Wednesday night respectively.
The deceased are Maksudul Karim Raihan, 30, a resident of Chand Mia Housing at Mohammadpur and Md Abdullah, 55, of Merajnagar at Kadamtali in the capital.
According to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police, Raihan, a manager of a pizza shop at Uttara, was critically injured after his motorcycle was hit by a private car from the back near Chandrima Udyan
of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Thursday around 8:15am while he was on his way to work. The car managed to flee.
Locals rushed him to Suhrawardi Hospital. He was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead around 9:15am.
His body was sent to DMCH morgue for a post-mortem examination.
Jahangir Hossain, a sub-inspector of Paltan police, said that Abdullah had died on the spot when he was run over by an unidentified vehicle under Hanif Flyover near Gulistan around 11:30pm on Wednesday.
