Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority is set to launch its ‘One Stop Service Centre’ formally today for providing all the necessary services to investors of the economic zones under a single roof.
BEZA chief law officer Malay Choudhury said on Sunday that although the OSS centre would formally be inaugurated on Monday, the authority had already begun to provide most of the services at the centre.
The OSS centre would help the investors at the economic zones to get all the services in one place and start their businesses within a short time, he added.
Prime minister’s private industry and investment adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman is expected to attend the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest while BEZA executive chairman Paban Chowdhury will be in the chair.
Malay informed that out of the 107 services selected by BEZA to be provided at the OSS centre, 52 were being provided directly while the others were being provided through the assistance of different ministries or departments.
‘BEZA is providing 11 services online at present and more four services will be added soon,’ he said.
A senior official informed that BEZA would sign four memoranda of understanding with NBR, the Department of Environment, Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms and Sonali Bank to facilitate online service provision under the OSS centre.
