Folk singer Narayan Chandra Shil entertained the audience at a solo show held at Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on Friday.
The programme was arranged by Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre where Narayan Chandra Shil, also director general of Bangladesh Betar, rendered songs of various genres which included modern, patriotic and other forms.
The singer commenced his performance rendering the song O pakhi re aay dekhey jaa kemon achhi. He later sang songs like Ke bole phalgun, Rodh makha shei din, Ke tumi hey shokha, Amar bondhu roshik notobar, Tore banaiya rai binodini, Tumi aro ekbar ashiya jao morey kandaiya, Indu bala go and others.
Prominent singers of Bangladesh like Khurshid Alam, Sujit Mustafa, Farida Yasmin and others were also present at programme.
Director of IGCC Nipa Chowdury and deputy director Parip Kumar were also present at the programme.
‘Besides popular songs, Narayan Chandra Shil has also rendered a number of rare songs at the show. I have enjoyed the melodious event,’ Sayra Sahreen, an audience, told New Age.
