Renowned local recitation artiste, thespian Asaduzzaman Noor and Indian artiste Dalia Basu’s duet recitation album titled ‘Jodi Ei Banglay Asho’ was launched at Chhayanaut Sangskriti-Bhavan in Dhanmondi on Friday.
The album contains a total of ten poems, all of which have been penned by poet Ram Charan Das. It was released under the banner of G-Series.
The album was dedicated to Sonagazi madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi, who was killed by assailants for protesting sexual harassment by her teacher.
Former post and telecommunication secretary and poet Shyam Sunder Sikder, owner of G-series Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan Khaled, prime minister’s personal secretary (one) Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah and others were present as guests at the launching ceremony.
‘In the last few years, I have not recited any poems. Maintaining recitation skills require a lot of practice. I hope listeners will find my album entertaining,’ said Asaduzzaman Noor.
‘Working with Asaduzzaman Noor has been a great learning experience for me. Ram Chandra Das’ poems address contemporary issues which I hope the Bangladeshi poetry lovers will enjoy,’ said Dalia Basu.
