Cultural organisation Muktadhara Sangskriti Charcha Kendra entertained the audience staging a recitation production comprised of poet Shamsur Rahman’s poems at Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Wednesday.
The troupe performed at the venue on the sixth day of ten-day Ganga-Jamuna Cultural Festival 2019, under way at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Bangladesh Mahila Samity.
Around 10 artistes of Muktadhara Sangskriti Charcha Kendra performed in the poetry production titled ‘Krishnapokkher Purnima’.The production portrays the language movement of 1952, liberation war of 1971, the sacrifices of freedom fighters and movements after that.
The production contains poems like Roudro Korotite, Bondi Shibir Theke, Dusshomoyer Mukhomukhi, Ak Dhoroner Ohongkar, Ekaruser Akash and others.
Mahmuda Siddika Sumi, Nasima Khan Bokul, Bulbul Mohalanbish, Sajjad Hossain, Shayla Laboni, Farzana Afrin and others performed in the production.
‘We are participating in the festival for the fifth consecutive year. I hope the audience found the production entertaining,’ Elma Binti, a member of Kranti Shilpi Gosthi, told New Age.
Besides, artistes of Satyen Sen Shilpi Gosthi entertained the audience staging a recitation production titled ‘Itihash Katha Koy’ at the venue.
The production depicts the sufferings of people under the British raj, language movement, historical speech of March 7 by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and others.
Anisur Rahman, Shyamol Chowdhury, Ratna Sarkar, Afroza Parvin, Tasnim Choudhury and other troupe members of Satyen Sen Shilpi Gosthi performed at the event.
Artistes of six cultural troupes entertained the audience with group and solo performances at the open stage on BSA premises.
