Bangladesh ended their five-match Under-21 friendly hockey series against Oman with a 3-4 defeat in the fifth and final match at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
The defeat meant Bangladesh took the series by 3-1 as the won three matches and drew one in the series organised as part of preparation for Under-21 Asia Cup to be held in Dhaka next year.
Oman took the lead in the last match i 29th minute when captain Rashad Al-Fazari scored from a penalty corner but Ashraful Islam levelled the margin for Bangladesh, also from a penalty corner, two minutes later.
Captain Mahbub Hossain gave Bangladesh the lead in the 34th minute but Oman continued their attacking game that bore fruits soon as Akram Bait and Adnan Al-Hasani scored two goals in the 40th and 49th minutes respectively to give their team a 3-2 lead.
In the 55th minute, Hussein Bait Faraj Allah scored fourth goal for Oman while Ashraful reduced the gap for Bangladesh by scoring his second in the 59th minute.
