A delegation of Bangladesh Nationalist Party could not visit the home of slain engineering student Abrar Fahad at Raidanga in Kumarkhali of Kushtia on Sunday as police obstructed them to enter the district at Lalon Shah Bridge.

Police led by Kushtia additional superintendent of police (Bheramara circle) SM Al-Biruni stopped the car, carrying chairperson’s adviser Amanullah Aman and other leaders near the bridge around 11:30am.

Facing obstruction, Aman requested police to allow exercising their democratic rights.

BNP executive committee member Nazim Uddin Alam, Kushtia district BNP president Syed Mehedi Ahmed Rumi and former general secretary Sohrab Uddin were with Aman. At one stage, police forced them to return back to Dhaka.

SM Al-Biruni said police did not allow the delegation in Kushtia considering their safety and security.
