This year’s Junior School Secondary Certificate and Junior Dakhil Certificate examinations would begin on November 2 and continue till November 13.
All coaching centres would remain close between October 25 and November 18 to contain leak out of question papers, said education minister Dipu Moni on Sunday.
‘This could bring some temporary discomfort for other students but we are yet to have any other alternatives for holding examinations in an environment free from question paper leak,’ she said.
The minister talked to the reporters after attending a meeting of national monitoring and law and order situation related committee for holding JSC and JDC examinations.
The meeting was held at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital.
Dipu Moni said they were trying for other alternatives before controlling the business of coaching centres.
She asked the guardians not to engage in any immoral activities like searching for question papers before examinations as if there remains demand there would be ways of leak of question papers.
For preventing question paper leaks, the intelligence agencies were monitoring the social media, she added.
This year, around 27 lakhs students would sit for the examinations, said education ministry officials.
The JSC examinations would begin on November 2 and conclude on November 11.
The JDC examinations would start on November 2 and conclude on November 13.
All examinations would begin at 10:00am.
