Bangladesh Under-21 hockey team secured a 2-0 win in their third match against their Omanis counterparts to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match friendly series at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Friday.
Ashraful Islam and Saiful Alam scored one goal each for the winners.
The hosts took the lead in the ninth minute of the first quarter, when Ashraful scored from a penalty corner.
Oman tried to strike back with multiple attempts but failed to muster up a decisive attack.
Saiful then scored in the 53rd minute from another penalty corner to seal the win for the home side.
Earlier, Bangladesh thrashed Oman by 5-1 goals in the first match on Tuesday before being held to a 2-2 draw the following day.
The fourth match of the series will be played today at the same venue.
Both sides are playing the series as part of their preparation for the AHF Junior (Under-21) Asia Cup 2020, scheduled to be held in Dhaka from June 4 to 14 next year.
