Bollywood biographical film titled ‘The Sky Is Pink’, directed by Shonali Bose, is all set to hit screens today, reports Hindustan Times.
The film is co-produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Ronnie Screwvala and Priyanka Chopra under the banner of RSVP Movies, Roy Kapur Films and Purple Pebble Pictures.
The Sky Is Pink is based on the life of Aisha Chaudhary, who became a motivational speaker after being diagnosed with an immune deficiency order at the age of 13. It also sheds light on the love story of her parents.
Bollywood sensation and the global icon Priyanka Chopra made a return to film through The Sky Is Pink after a break of around three years.
Alongside Priyanka the film also stars Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim, Rohit Saraf and others.
In this film Priyanka and Farhan appears as a married couple, whose life and struggles will be described through the eyes of their teenage daughter, played by Zaira Wasim who was diagnosed with a pulmonary fibrosis disease.
Film trade analyst Girish Johar claimed that the film targets a niche audience.
‘It is an upmarket film, a human drama for limited audience. It will release only in big cities and metros and will possibly open at around Rs 3 - 4 crore,’ he told Hindustan Times.
But the film can rise above expectations if it is able to garner positive reviews. ‘There is some buzz due to Priyanka and Farhan.
The performance of the film will largely rely on word of mouth during the second half and the following weekend. If the audience likes the film, it will improve on Friday evening and our prediction of Rs 3-4 crore can reach Rs 5-6 crore,’ Girish Johar added again.
The official trailer of the film was released by RSVP Movies on September 10, 2019.
The film has already received a long standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival last month.
