Bangladesh Under-21 hockey team played out a 2-2 draw against their Omanis counterparts in their second of the five-match friendly series at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
Mahbub Hossain and Shohanur Rahman Sabuj scored one goal each for the hosts while Rashad Al Farazi scored a brace for Oman.
Mahbub gave Bangladesh the lead in the 31st minute with a field goal but Omen came back strongly to take a 2-1 lead when Rashad scored from a penalty corner in the 34th minute and a field goal in the 41st minute.
But Shohanur saved the day for the hosts by scoring an equaliser in the 43rd minute. Bangladesh began the series in style when they thrashed the same side 5-1 in their opening match on Tuesday.
The next match of the series will be held at the same venue on October 11. Both sides are playing the series as part of their preparation for the AHF Junior [Under-21] Asia Cup 2020, scheduled to be held in Dhaka from June 4 to 14 next year.
