Manzur Elahi gets UKBCCI ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’

Apex Group chairman Syed Manzur Elahi has received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ of the UKBangladesh Catalysts of Commerce and Industry, said a press release.

UKBCCI gave the award at the Business and Entrepreneur Excellence Awards-2019 held at Hilton Park Hotel, London recently.

Elahi received the award for his contributions to the country’s banking sector and investment and employment generation.

Elahi is also the founding chairman of Mutual Trust Bank and Grey Advertising Bangladesh Ltd.

In addition, he currently serves as founder chairman of ‘Manusher Jonno Foundation’ Freedom Foundation, Freedom Foundation, Pragati Foundation for Education and Development, board of trustees chairman of East West University, managing director of International Publications Limited and director of Central Depository Bangladesh Limited.

He is also a trustee board member of the Centre for Policy Dialogue and the Bangladesh Diabetic Association.

Elahi said, ‘Such international recognition will make me more accountable to my work. I had been honoured by the organisation before as well, but this year’s recognition is special for me.’

UKBCCI president Bajloor Rashid and UK members of parliament were among 800 guests who were present at the function, added the release.
