Shovajan celebrates 8th founding anniversary

Cultural organisation Shovajan celebrated its 8th founding anniversary organising a programme held at Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Monday.

The programme titled ‘Manabik Manush Chai’ featured a discussion and cultural show.

Renowned artist and art critic Professor Bulbon Osman was present as the chief guest, while eminent poet Quasi Rosy, poet Naim Hasan, lyricist Shahidullah Farayezi and others were present as special guests at the programme, presided over by Shovajan general secretary Tarun Russell.

‘To build a beautiful society, we have to promote cultural practices among the mass people. Shovajon has been working to spread cultural activities among the younger generation. I wish them all the best,’ said Bulbon Osman.

Following the discussion, artistes of Shovajan entertained the audience performing songs, recitation and dance recitals.

Sabrina Sultana Safa, Jewel Joy,  Azharuddin, child artist Pratibha and others entertained the audience rendering Lalon songs like Pakhi kokhon jani urey jai, Shomoy gele shadhon hobey na, Rudra Mohammad Shahidullah’s popular song Bhalo achhi bhalo theko, Ke jash re bhati gang gaiya and more.

Besides, poets Nipa Chowdhury, Ishrat Mitu, Rehan Rubel and Nurun Newaz Rana recited their self-penned poems.

Rubia Mallika, Sania Rama, Tithi Zaman, Anis Muhammad and Nipa Chowdhury performed dance recitals synchronised with songs like Alor omol komol khani, Tomra ja bolo tai bolo, Eito tomar prem, Hridoye chhile jege and Aaj dhaner khete.
