BARI holds workshop on use of bio-pesticides

A day-long workshop on development and expansion of bio-rational-based integrated pest management technologies of vegetables, fruits and betel leaf project was held at the seminar room of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute in Gazipur on Saturday.

Agriculture secretary Md Nasiruzzaman inaugurated the workshop as chief guest, said a release.

BARI director general Abul Kalam Azad chaired the workshop while Department of Agricultural Extension field services wing director Chandi Das Kundu, BARI research director Md Abdul Wohab, Planning Commission crop wing joint chief Mohammed Tasharuf Hossain Farazi were present as special guests. Head of the entomology division Debasish Sarker, integrated pest management of DAE deputy project director and deputy director Md Rezaul Islam also spoke during the workshop.

Scientists from different divisions of BARI, representatives from Department of Agricultural Extension, Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation and farmers participated in the workshop.
