Popular band Miles performed in different cities of Canada in September as part of its 40th founding anniversary world tour.
Shafin Ahmed, the band’s vocalist and bassist and who missed the band’s USA tour, joined Miles at the concerts respectively held in seven Canadian cities like Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto on September 1, 7, 15, 20, 21, 22 and 28.
The band performed its famous songs like Nila tumi ki jano na, Sesh bikeler alote, Chad tara surjjo nou tumi, Ki jadu, Ami kotokal khujbo tomay, Dhikki dhiki agun jole, Phiriye dao amar e prem tumi and others at the shows.
The band donated the proceeds from the concerts to Alberta Cancer Foundation in Canada.
Miles kicked off its world tour in the USA in June. Shafin Ahmed could not join the band there due to passport related complications.
‘It was a temporary accident that I could not attend the concerts in the USA. After finishing here in Canada, we’ll perform together in Australia as well. We are a family. I personally missed the American audience. Hamin Ahmed had to face extra pressure last couple of concerts. Now he needs little bit vocal rest,’ said Shafin Ahmed.
Miles will conclude its tour after performing in Australia. The band will return to Bangladesh on October 31.
The band comprises Hamin Ahmed (vocal & guitar), Shafin Ahmed (vocal & bass), Manam Ahmed (keys & vocal), Syed Ziaur Rahman Turjo (drums & percussion) and Iqbal Asif Jewel (guitar & vocal).
