Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan retained the National Youth Hockey Championship title with a thumping 5-0 win over Dhaka Education Board in the final at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Monday.
With the win, BKSP have now won the youth hockey title for the 13th time in overall 26 editions of the competition.
It was a cakewalk for star-studded BKSP in the final as most of their players play in the Premier League for teams like Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club, Abahani Limited and Dhaka Wanderers Club.
Tournament’s top-scorer Sohanur Rahman gave BKSP the lead in the 20th minute converting a penalty corner.
Debashish Kumar doubled the lead availing an angular fierce drive from Mohammad Mohsin, who latter struck two goals in the 29th and 37th minutes respectively.
Sohanur wrapped up the victory in the 58th minute.
‘Yes, it was an uneven battle between the two sides as most of our players play in the Premier League and know each other well’ said BKSP manager Kawsar Ali after the match.
