Bangladesh men’s national football team slipped to 187th place in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.
In August’s FIFA rankings, Bangladesh were placed 182nd but their 0-1 loss against Afghanistan in their 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 Asia Cup joint Qualifiers was reflected in the latest rankings, casing the drop.
The men in red and green now have 912 points compared to August’s 922 points.
Among the South Asian nations, Bangladesh are placed only above Sri Lanka (202) and Pakistan (203) but behind India (104), the Maldives (153) and Nepal (161) and Bhutan (185).
Belgium remained top of the world rankings after an action-packed number of weeks in international football.
Though the teams in the top-10 remain unchanged, there has been some movement and France (2nd,) and Brazil (3rd) traded places, while Spain moved to 7th from fifth place being the biggest gainers in top-10.
