National Film Award winning actress Arifa Parvin Moushumi has announced that she would contest for the post of president in the upcoming election of Bangladesh Film Actors’ Association.
She would contest as the first woman presidential candidate in the history of Bangladesh Film Actors’ Association election.
‘I have decided to be a candidate at the request of others. I want to work for the welfare of film artistes,’ said Moushumi.
Misha Sawdagar-Zayed Khan panel won the biennial election of Bangladesh Film Actors’ Association in 2017.
Misha Sawdagar was elected president while Zayed Khan became general secretary.
The schedule for the next election has not been announced yet.
Moushumi was elected as an executive member during the previous election. However, she did not take oath and stepped down on July 3, 2017.
