A two-day Nazrul festival featuring music show and workshop was held in Barishal city on Friday and Saturday.
Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Sangstha, Dhaka, in association with Nazrul Sangskritik Jote, Barishal, organised the event marking the 43rd death anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
The workshop was held at Shikkhok Bhavan auditorium on Friday while the closing ceremony featuring discussion and music show was held at Ashwini Kumar Hall of the city on Saturday.
Eminent Nazrul Sangeet singer Mahamudul Hasan, also organising secretary of BNSS, inaugurated the workshop where sixty Nazrul Sangeet singers participated. Md Tanvir Hasan directed the event.
Nazrul Sangskritik Jote, Barishal president Shanti Das presided over the closing ceremony. Deputy commissioner of Barishal S M Ajiar Rahman was present as the chief guest while general secretary of BNSS Khairul Anam Shakil and director, secondary and higher secondary education Barishal office Professor Moazzem Hossain were present as special guests at the event.
