Chhayanaut holds folk music show

Cultural organisation Chhayanaut organised a folk music show as part of its regular monthly Srotar Ashor at Ramesh Chandra Dutt Memorial Auditorium of Chhayanaut Shangshkriti Bhaban on Friday.

National Film Award winning playback singer Chandana Majumder and Chhayanaut’s teacher Manik Jalaluddin Khan along with Chhayanaut artistes entertained the audience by presenting popular folk songs.

Manik Jalaluddin Khan commenced the show rendering songs like Pranonath chhariya jaio na morey and Bhab torongey esho amar shongey.

Following which, Chandana Majumder rendered songs like Jogot muktite bholalen shai, Mayere bhojile hoy tar babar thikana, Amare ki rakhben guru charoner dashi, Jiber ki shaddho bolo,Ghor bedheshe Bhalo ghorami, Jinda dehey morar bashon, Nigum Bichare Shotyo, Shai amar kokhon khele kon khela and others to the delight of the audience.

The artistes were accompanied by Goutam Saha on tabla, Ashok Kumar Sarkar on esraj and Prodip Roy on mandira.
