Elephant kills farmer

A farmer was trampled to death by an elephant in the hilly area of Votehapara village at Eadgong union in Cox’s Bazar at about 12:30am on Friday.

The dead is Nazir Ahmed, son of the late Aso Ali of same area.

Eadgong Investigation Centre under Cox’s Bazar sadar police station sub-inspector Asaduzzaman said that Nazir Ahmed was in his sentry shed at the paddy field to protect paddy from wild elephants.

An elephant attacked his shed at midnight and trampled him to death, the SI said.
