Bangladeshi archer Ruman Shana confirmed a silver medal when he reached the recurve men’s individual event final of Asia Cup-World Ranking Tournament Stage-three Test Event beating La Ta of China by 6-4 sets in the semi-final in Clark City, Philippines on Wednesday.
In the final on Friday, the 24-year old Shana will face Zhenqi Shi of China at 12:25 pm Bangladesh Standard Time.
In the quarter-final, Shana defeated Yang Huie-Jhe of Chinese Taipei by 7-1 sets after 6-0 sets win in the third and second round against Thailand’s Thepna Denchai and Myanmar’s Thiha Htet Zaw respectively.
Two other Bangladeshi archers, Tamimul Islam and Hakim Ahmed Rubel finished 20th and 21th.
Tamimul lost to Xiangshuo Qi of China in the third round by 5-6 sets while Rubel lost to Guan-Jhong Huang of Chinese Taipei by 4-6 sets in the second round.
In the women’s recurve individual event, Beauty Roy finished 14th after she lost to Jiaxin Wu of China by 4-6 sets in the second round.
