Prominent singer Dilruba Khan has made a comeback after 25 years.
The singer lent her voice to the song ‘Jaan re’ for the government grant winning upcoming children’s film Payrar Chithi directed by Nishith Surjo. Musical arrangement for the song has been done by Musifuq Litu.
‘Payrar Chithi will be released at the beginning of next year,’ said the director.
‘It feels good to be back again. I really liked the lyrics of the song, which has been written and composed by Nishith Surjo. I really enjoyed working with him,’ said Dilruba Khan, who gained huge popularity singing the songs Pagol mon monre, Bhromor koiyo giya, Dui bhuboner dui bashinda, Bonomali tumi and others.
The singer also explained her absence from the music scene.
‘I took a break from playback singing because directors were saying that my voice doesn’t match with any actress. I was also unwell for almost seven years. However, I always wanted to sing after I got better and hence decided to make my comeback. I want to sing till the last day of my life,’ said Dilruba Khan.
