President Abdul Hamid left Dhaka for London on Saturday for health checkup.
A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the president took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at about 9:40am, president’s deputy press secretary Abul Kalam Azad told UNB.
Liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Huq, acting dean of diplomatic crops Devrim Ozturk, the cabinet secretary, chiefs of the three services, the principal secretary to the prime minister’s office, foreign secretary, home affairs secretary, inspector general of police, acting British high commissioner in Dhaka Kanbar Hossein Bor, and other civil and military officials saw off the president at the VVIP lounge of the airport.
He is expected to return Bangladesh on September 8.
