AB Bank Limited has recently appointed two deputy managing directors. Mahmudul Alam has joined the bank as DMD - head of credit, while Abdur Rahman as DMD - head of retail banking division.
Mahmudul Alam completed his MBA, with major in financial management, from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka.
Alam started his professional career from IDLC Ltd in 1990, and subsequently worked in different capacities in Shahjalal Islamic Bank Limited, GSP Finance Company (Bangladesh) Limited.
Mahmudul Alam has more than 28 years’ work experience with different banks and reputed financial organisations in Bangladesh.
Prior to his joining AB Bank, he was managing director and CEO of Union Capital Limited.
Abdur Rahman started his career in 1994 with ANZ Grindlays Bank, Bangladesh.
He has more than 13 years’ experience in multinational banking at ANZ Grindlays and Standard Chartered Bank. He passed over 11 years in country’s top private sector banks - BRAC Bank and City Bank Ltd.
Rahman has enriched his experience of retail and SME banking through working in various capacities in branches and head office of ANZ Grindlays, Standard Chartered, BRAC and City Bank.
Rahman was head of SME Banking of BRAC Bank. He had instrumental role in growing BRAC Bank’s retail businesses also, while he was head of branch banking of BRAC Bank.
He had significant role in growing retail businesses of City Bank Ltd while he was the head of all branches of the bank.
Prior to his joining AB Bank, Abdur Rahman was the head of branches of Meghna Bank ltd.
Abdur Rahman is a post graduate in Social Welfare from University of Dhaka and EMBA from BRAC University, Dhaka.
