A suspected drug dealer was found dead following a reported gunfight with his ‘rivals’ at Islampur area in Satkhira on Friday, police claimed.
Deceased Mansur Rahman, a man in his forties, of Chandipur under Shyamnagar upazila in Satkhira, had at least 14 cases filed against him, police said.
With the latest casualties, the death toll during the on-going anti-drug drive has risen to 443 since May 15, 2018
Satkhira Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Mostafizur Rahman claimed that a team of cops of his police station, hearing sound of gunshots, rushed to the spot in the early hours on Friday and recovered the body of Mansur.
He said that Mansur might have been killed in a ‘gunfight’ with his rivals centring drug trade.
He said that they also seized a gun from the spot.
