Bangladesh girls lose again

Bangladesh Under-21 women’s hockey team suffered second successive defeat in their six-match friendly series against Sports Authority of India team by 0-6 goals at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.

Manisha Chautian scored two field goals in the 27th and 29th minutes while Gayatri Kinan added another field goal in the 25th minute.

Sakshi, Lalruatfeli Mesabi and Lolita Mary each scored one penalty corner goal for the winners in the eighth, 36 and 41st minutes respectively.     

In the opening match of the series, Bangladesh lost to the Indian outfit by identical margin at the same venue on Thursday.

They will take on each other in their next matches at the same venue on August 23, 25, 26 and 28.

Bangladesh are playing the series against the experienced Indian side as part of their preparation for the forthcoming Women’s Junior [Under-21] AHF Cup, scheduled to be held in Singapore from September 9 to 15.
