An anti-terror tribunal on Thursday set September 5 to hold hearing on charge framing against eight members of banned extremist outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team in case lodged over murder of publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan in 2016.
Acting Judge Farhana Ferdous of Anti-Terror Tribunal set the date as the regular judge Mojibur Rahman is on leave, court official Ruhul Amin said.
The tribunal on March 19 accepted the charge sheet filed in the case and issued arrest warrants for fugitive accused sacked army Major Syed Ziaul Haque and Akram Hossain.
Investigation officer and detective branch assistant police commissioner Fazlur Rahman on November 15 filed the charge sheet against eight accused.
The accused are - sacked army Major Ziaul Haque, Moinul Hasan Shamim, Md Abdus Sabur, Khairul Islam, Md Abu Siddique Sohel, Md Mozammel Hossain Saimon, Md Sheikh Abdullah and Akram Hossain alias Hasib.
Of the eight, six have been arrested on different occasions and they already gave confessional statements.
Jagriti Prokashoni publisher Dipan was hacked to death in his Aziz Super Market office on November 31, 2016. His wife Rajia Rahman filed the case on that day with Shahbagh police station.
