Good news for fans of Chirkutt. The popular fusion band has recorded a playback song for Arun Chowdhuri’s upcoming silver screen venture Mayaboti.

The song Atkey geche mon has been penned and tuned by vocalist of the band Sharmin Sultana Shumi. It was recorded at Chirkutt’s studio in Niketan.

‘It’s a romantic track which is different from our previous ones.  I have really enjoyed recording the song for the film, which itself is based on a wonderful story. I hope the music lovers across the country will find the song entertaining,’ Sharmin Sultana Shumi, vocalist of the band, told New Age.

The band has earlier rendered playback songs for films like Aynabaji, Doob, Television and others.

Chirkutt’s current line-up comprises of Emon Chowdhury (guitar), Pavel Areen (drums), Sharmin Sultana Sumi (vocal), Didar (bass) and Nirab (keyboard).

The band has been performing since 2002. In the last three years, the band got huge response for its songs like Duniya, Kanamachhi, Ahare Jibon and others.

The band also bagged the Channel-i Music Award 2018 in the Best Playback Music Category for the song Ahare jiban, which was recorded for Mostafa Sarwar Farooki’s film Doob.

Mayaboti is scheduled to hit local cinemas on September 13.
