National Film Award winning singer Fahimda Nabi has recorded a song celebrating motherhood.
The song Mago tomar choley jaway-e was recorded at a studio in Dhaka on August 5. A music video of the song will be released in the first week of September.
‘I recorded the song to pay tribute to all the mothers out there. It was recorded at Gaanshala Studio. We shot a music video of the song on August 17. It will be released on my YouTube channel,’ Fahmida Nabi told New Age.
The song has been penned by Manjurul Alam Chowdhury and tuned by Fahmida’s brother Pancham Nabi.
‘I really liked the lyrics of the song. I hope the music lovers will find it entertaining,’ she added.
When asked to share her views on the contemporary music scene, Fahmida Nabi replied, ‘The music scene is currently at a critical stage. We are losing our listeners due to low quality artistes and songs. I have noticed that many singers who don’t know anything about singing or music are flooding the industry with poor songs and albums. It is tarnishing the image of our local music scene.’
