Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists would go out on nationwide demonstrations across the country on Sunday to press home their demands including announcement of the ninth wage board award and enactment of Mass Media Employees’ Act immediately.
The BFUJ announced the countrywide rally also protesting against indiscriminate termination of journalists and other staff at different media outlets and the case lodged by Newspaper Owners’ Association of Bangladesh against publication of gazette of the ninth wage board award.
BFUJ secretary general in-charge Abdul Majid in a release said that BFUJ and Dhaka Union of Journalists would hold a rally in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka at 11:00am as a part of the countrywide programme.
A procession would be followed, it said, adding that a memorandum would also be submitted to the information minister later on the day to press home the demands.
