South Korean ambassador Ahn Seong Doo donated a grand piano to Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Sunday at National Theatre Hall of the academy.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy director general Liaquat Ali Lucky received the piano from the ambassador.
Cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor, cultural affairs secretary Aktari Mamtaz and Youngone Corporation chairman Ki-Hak Sung were present at the programme.
Cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor said, ‘We have a good cultural relation with South Korea. We have also many cultural exchange programmes with Korea and hope the collaboration continues in future.’
Following the discussion, a short cultural show was presented.
Singer Timir Nandi, accompanied by instrumentalists, presented the popular patriotic song Dhanadhanne Pushpebhora. Nandi also played the piano donated by the Korean ambassador while singing the song.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy repertory children troupe presented famous Tagore song Anondaloke Mongololoke in chorus.
Ambassador Ahn Seong Doo also presented a Korean song along with the acoustic of piano at the programme.
