Cultural organisation Amra Kuri honoured three veteran women artistes for their contributions to their respective fields.
The organisation honoured actress Dilara Zaman, singer Fatema Tuz Zohra and filmmaker Nargis Akhter at a programme held at Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy recently.
The organisation also celebrated its 28th founding anniversary at the event.
Amra Kuri secretary general Ferdous Ara Bonna gave welcome speech at the event.
The programme also featured a cultural show.
Amra Kuri artistes commenced the programme rendering the Tagore song Anandaloke mangalaloke.
Following which, artistes recited poems like Ami Hobo Shokal Belar Pakhi, Pakhir Moto Urtey and Swadhinata Ei Shabdati Amar Kivabey Holo.
In chorus, artistes rendered patriotic songs Muktir mandir shopanotale, Purba digantey surja uthechey and Shikol pora chol.
Liza, Mukta and Anik entertained the audience performing solo songs.
‘No cultural organisation can proposer without support. We are thankful to our well-wishers for supporting us during our journey. We will continue to work for promoting cultural practices among the younger generation in the coming years,’ said Ferdous Ara Bonna.
