Nagarik Oikya in party a resolution demanded holding of an acceptable general election to restore a democratic rule for preventing on-going social unrest over raising incidents of lynching, murder, enforced disappearance and dengue menace.
The unregistered political party took the resolution at a meeting held its central office in the capital on Saturday, said a press release.
Recent trends of lynching, extrajudicial killing, outbreak of dengue and contamination in food were discussed in the meeting.
It said that the meeting thought that it was a perfect time to launch protests against such social unrest.
‘People concerned should think beyond the party, group, family and personal benefits to restore democracy,’ it said.
Nagarik Oikya convenor Mahmudur Rahman Manna presided over the meeting.
