The parliamentary standing committee on civil aviation and tourism ministry on Sunday asked the Biman Bangladesh Airlines to submit a complete list of tools it procured in the past decade.
The parliamentary watchdog issued the order at a meeting held on the day at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, a release said.
The committee members wanted to know how many tools were procured in last ten years and also asked the national flag carrier to inform the committee before finalising any big deal or procurement, the release added.
The committee also asked the Biman to give 17 per cent discounts to 17 online ticket buyers on the 17th day of every months of the ‘Mujib Barsha’.
The government has decided to celebrate the birth centenary of the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s as ‘Mujib Borsho’ starting from March 2020 to March 2021.
Presided by the committee chairman RAM Ubaidul Muktadir Chowdhury, its members state-minister for civil aviation and tourism M Mahbub Ali, M Aslamul Haque, Tanveer Imam, Anwar Hossain Khan and Syeda Rubina Akter were present at the meeting.
