Jagannath University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League would hold its second council session on Saturday to elect its new leaders.
The council would be held as the Chhatra League central committee suspended the university unit following an infighting that left at least 40 people, including three journalists, injured on the campus on February 3, 2019.
Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan was scheduled to inaugurate the event at the university’s science faculty playground as the chief guest.
On July 7, the Chhatra League central committee announced the schedule of the council session.
The council session would be held on schedule, said Jamal Uddin, joint convener of council preparatory committee.
The suspended committee with Md Tariqul Islam Islam president and Sheikh Joynal Abedin Russell general secretary was formed on October 17, 2017 and its tenure was over on February 3, 2019.
