Int’l lit conf begins at Bangla Academy Feb 2

Three-day long ‘International Literature Conference’ will begin on the Bangla Academy premises on February 2.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the conference with the month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair on February 1, said Bangla Academy director general Shamsuzzaman Khan at a press conference on Thursday.
Bangla Academy will organise the conference aiming to build a good bonding among the local and foreign writers, poets, novelists as well as to create a platform to exchange their literary works, Khan added.
‘International Literature Conference Writers’ Honorary Award’ will be given to the six prominent personalities of Bangladesh marking the occasion.
The six personalities are — National Professor of Bangladesh Mustafa Nurul Islam, Language Movement veteran and researcher Ahmad Rafiq, Dhaka University political science teacher professor Dr Borhanuddin Khan Jahangir, Professors Emeritus Serajul Islam Choudhury , Anisuzzaman and Rafiqul Islam.
The foreign litterateurs, who will join the conference, are — Manfred Chobot from Austria, Jona Burghardt and Tobias Burghardt from Germany, Luz Maria Lopez and Maria De Los Angles Camacho Rivas from Puerto Rico, Dr Victor Alexandrovich Pogqdaey from Russia and Professor Dong You Chen from China.
