Bangladesh registered their maiden win in the AHF Men’s Asian Indoor Hockey 2019 when they crushed Philippines by 9-0 goals in their third Pool A match at the Chonburi in Thailand on Wednesday. Mainul Islam Koushik struck a double hat-trick, while Rasel Mahmud Jimi netted two and Ashraful Islam scored one goal for the winners. It took Bangladesh just nine minutes to go 3-0 up with Mainul scoring in the fourth and fifth minute and Ashraful netting one in the ninth minute. Mainul struck again in the 11th minute to complete his hat-trick while Jimi opened his account in the 17th minute before Mainul netted his fourth goal in the 20th minute to take a 6-0 lead in the first half. Mainul bagged his fifth goal in the 30th minute while Jimi added his second one in the 33rd minute before Mainul completed his double hat-trick in the 36th minute. Bangladesh lost their first two games against holders Iran by 0-8 goals following a 0-6 thumping against Malaysia in their first match. In their last Pool A match, Bangladesh will face hosts Thailand today.
