Awami League Advisory Council member Amir Hossain Amu on Tuesday called upon the leaders and workers of the party to work in unison and obey the party discipline to strengthen the organisation.
‘Bangladesh has become a role model of development under the dynamic leadership of prime minister Sheikh Hasina. We will have to help reach the development activities to the people at grassroots. Strengthening organisations efforts is must for that,’ he said.
The AL leader said while inaugurating the party’s Mymensingh divisional representatives’ meeting in Tareq memorial auditorium on the premises of Town Hall in Mymensingh.
Chaired by education minister and Awami League joint general secretary Dipu Moni, the meeting was addressed by AL Presidium members Begum Matia Chowdhury and agriculture minister Dr Md Abdur Razzque, organising secretary Ahmed Hossain, cultural affairs secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, former minister Mirza Azam, party’s education and human resource affairs secretary Shamsunnahar Chapa, central working committee member Marufa Akhter Popy, Jatiya Sangsad whip Atiqur Rahman Atiq, former religious affairs minister principal Matiur Rahman, Mymensingh city AL president Ehtasem Alam and Mymensingh City Corporation mayor Ekramul Haque Titu, among others, addressed the function.
AL organising secretary Md Misbah Uddin Siraj and Mymensingh district AL general secretary Moazzem Hossain Babul conducted the meeting while Mymensingh district AL president Jahirul Haque Khoka gave the welcome address.
Amu said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had struggled for economic emancipation of people and establishing their rights.
Now, Bangabandhu’s daughter prime minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to build a Sonar Bangla as dreamt by the Father of the Nation, he added.
