B’desh crushed to defeat

Defending champions Iran made a winning start in the AHF Men’s Asian Indoor Hockey 2019 with an 8-0 crushing win against Bangladesh in their Pool A match in Chonburi, Thailand on Tuesday.

Reza Norouzzadeh scored a hat-trick while Hamid Nooranian netted two goals and Amirmahdi Mirzakhanian, Taherirad Navid and Beiranvand Behdad scored one goal each for the winners.

Earlier, Bangladesh began their campaign with a 0-6 defeat against Malaysia on Monday.

Bangladesh will take on the Philippines in their next match at the same venue today. If they win against the Philippines, Bangladesh will play the seventh-place decider match on July 20.
