KAALO to screen Khacha

Counter Foto Students’ Forum (KAALO) will be holding two screenings of Akram Khan’s government-grant winning film Khacha, which represented Bangladesh at the 90th Academy Awards, popularly known as Oscars, on July 26.

The film will be screened at KAALO’s campus in Uttara at 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm, says a press release.

The film has been produced by Impress Telefilms Ltd and directed by Akram Khan.

Khancha, based on Hasan Azizul Haque’s short story with the same title, features sufferings of a Hindu family in the then East Pakistan after the partition of India in 1947.  Besides Jaya, the film stars Mamunur Rashid, Azad Abul Kalam, Chadni, Shahed Ali and others.
