While talking to New Age, Selim and Nasim disclosed how they would work to build the association as an effective platform for TV artistes.
‘I am happy to be elected as the president of the organisation. I would work for development of the TV industry and try to fix a working hour for artistes. I would urge the government to recognise TV artistes like other professionals and introduce an award like National Film Award for the artistes working in this field,’ Shahiduzzaman Selim told New Age.
‘I want to thank the voters for electing me general secretary again. We will ink an agreement with Directors’ Guild and Television Programme Producers’ Association so that all of us can work together for making the struggling television industry vibrant again,’ Ahsan Habib Nasim told New Age.
Actors’ Equity was formed in 2002. The organisation has since been working as a platform to forward interests of the artistes.
