ACC files case against Tasfia’s father

Chattogram Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday filed a case against the alleged drug dealer Md Amin, father of deceased 9th-grader, Tasfia Amin, whose body was found on the Karnaphuli river bank in Chattogram in May 2018.
ACC District office-2 deputy assistant director Md Sharif Uddin filed the case against Md Amin (42) with Double Mooring Thana for acquiring illegal wealth and hiding information in the wealth statement.
Md Amin is the son of Md Ali of Dailpara union of Teknaf Upazila sadar, Cox’s Bazar. He is the father of Tasfia Amin, a 9th-grader of Sunshine Grammar School and College in Chittagong who was found dead on the Karnaphuli river bank in the city’s naval area on May 2, 2018.
Double Mooring Police Station inspector (investigation) Md Johir Hossain said that Amin submitted wealth statement at the ACC’s district office-2 on June 20 last year.
In that statement he showed he had immovable wealth worth of Tk 1 crore 41 lakh 53,585 in his name. But ACC in its inquiry found that Amin had immovable wealth worth of Tk 1 crore 73 lakh 82,938.
Besides, Amin acquired illegal wealth worth of Tk 6 crore 35 lakh 79, 84, he said.
